Our classroom uses a color-coded card system for behavior management. With the exception of the 'Wow' card, a 'no-card' day is a good day! Any card(s) your child receives will be stapled into the planner and be brought home to you. It is your responsibility to sign the card so that I know the behavior was discussed at home, and it is your child's responsibility to return the card to me the following day. If your child had a 'no-card' day, a smiley-face will be drawn in the planner for that day. At the end of the month, I will draw a couple cards from the 'Wow' card pile and those students will receive a prize. Students are allowed 1 warning before a card is given, unless the behavior is severe enough to warrant an automatic card. The color codes are as follows:
Behavior Cards
Wow!- you went out of your way to help someone
Yellow- being unkind
Blue- not following hallway rules
Orange- not following directions
Green- disrespecting property
Red- showing disrespect
Purple- not working quietly
Gray- not keeping hands to yourself
